About the role
The Vice President of Information Technology serves as the senior technology executive for the organization, establishing IT as a strategic business partner and driver of enterprise value. This executive is responsible for developing and executing the long-term technology vision, digital transformation strategy, and enterprise roadmap while ensuring technology investments directly support organizational growth, operational excellence, and competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the enterprise technology vision and multi-year IT strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on technology investments, digital transformation initiatives, cybersecurity risks, AI adoption, and emerging technologies.
- Establish and lead enterprise IT governance, including portfolio management, investment prioritization, architecture standards, data governance, and technology policies.
- Build strong partnerships across all business functions to identify opportunities where technology, analytics, automation, and AI can improve operational performance and business outcomes.
- Lead enterprise modernization initiatives across ERP platforms, enterprise applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms, analytics, and business intelligence.
- Drive organizational adoption of modern technologies including AI, automation, advanced analytics, and cloud-based solutions to improve efficiency and decision-making.
- Oversee enterprise cybersecurity strategy, risk management, disaster recovery, business continuity, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide executive leadership for IT operations, infrastructure, enterprise applications, service delivery, engineering, and support functions while developing future technology capabilities.
- Lead enterprise portfolio management by evaluating, prioritizing, and governing strategic technology initiatives and capital investments.
- Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets while ensuring measurable business value and return on technology investments.
- Oversee vendor strategy, contract negotiations, outsourcing relationships, and strategic technology partnerships.
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing technology leadership teams while creating succession plans and organizational growth strategies.
- Present technology strategy, investment recommendations, business cases, and performance metrics to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- Establish enterprise-wide metrics and KPIs to measure technology performance, business outcomes, cybersecurity posture, and operational effectiveness.
- Champion a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, collaboration, and business partnership throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
- ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certification preferred.
- Five years of relevant IT support work experience
- Three years managing direct reports
Skills
- Advanced computer skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Work, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of various operating systems, security access, operations security, and database services.
- Knowledge and understanding of enterprise, network, systems/endpoint, application and data protection issues and security risks.
- Well-developed leadership skills in a matrix organization structure.
- Ability to work effectively within a culturally diverse environment.
- Ability to understand and lead technical resources.
