Network Operations Center (NOC) Technician / 2nd Shift (4x10)
About the role
Monitor network infrastructure, telecommunications systems, and 9-1-1 call-handling systems for performance, availability, and service disruptions. Troubleshoot IP network connectivity, routers, switches, servers, and endpoint hardware. Respond to network alerts, investigate outages, and resolve incidents within established SLA timelines. Perform network surveillance, performance checks, incident triage, and remote/cloud operations monitoring. Support network outage resolution and coordinate technical escalations with field technicians and network engineers. Manage incidents, changes, problems, and vendor tickets using ServiceNow or similar IT service management tools. Interpret network diagrams and maintain incident, outage, and quality control documentation. Support network operations in a 24/7 NOC or telecommunications environment. Position is onsite in Allen, TX (within a 30‑minute commute). Initial contract duration is 3 months with potential to extend or convert to hire based on performance.
Requirements
- 1+ year of network troubleshooting experience including IP network connectivity.
- 1+ year of experience troubleshooting routers, switches, servers, and endpoints.
- Strong knowledge of IP networking and interoperability standards.
- Hands‑on experience with VPN, BGP, MPLS, and SIP protocols.
- Ability to interpret network diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar tools.
- Ability to meet CJIS background screening requirements.
Skills
- Experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC), telecommunications, or 24/7 call center environment (a plus; training provided).
- Experience with ServiceNow Incident, Change, and Problem Management or similar ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of AWS cloud surveillance and remote network monitoring (a plus).
- CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCST, or CCNA certification or ITIL certification (nice to have).
Pay
$26‑$27.86 per hour (W2)
