Network IT Tech Coordinator
The Opportunity
This position will report to the Director of IT Operations and works closely with academic leadership and faculty. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for innovative technology use in education and has a strong background in technology support. S/he is fully dedicated to the mission of Brooklyn Prospect, and committed to keeping the academic and personal success of our students as a core focus while striving to grow professionally and support the operational excellence of the school. Candidates should have an interest or experience in education, and be committed to growing in our organization as we expand.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive incoming tech support requests from faculty & staff and effectively troubleshoot issues, prioritizing for urgency and seeking outside support as needed
- Report resolutions or escalate issues that cannot be resolved within the resources of the help desk
- Maintain proper documentation of issue-resolution results and techniques
- Collaborate effectively with managed service providers to achieve consistent and reliable network connectivity and equipment functionality, ensuring help desk tickets are placed as needed and quickly resolved
- Ensure proper use, reliability and safekeeping, and inventory tracking of BPCS technology assets (copiers, printers, computers, projectors, SmartBoards, etc.)
- Advise on new technology purchases
- Aid in the maintenance of, use, and implementation of organization-wide information systems and platforms
- Set up, configure and distribute laptops to new staff, and ensure classrooms are properly equipped with appropriate technology at start of each new year
- Technology Integration
- Effectively communicate technical information to non-tech oriented colleagues
- Proactively find more and better ways to effectively integrate technology with the academic programming of our schools
- Encourage and support the use of technology to enhance learning
- Lead regular professional development with faculty and staff around technology use at BPCS
- Serve as Google account administrator to manage end-user accounts, groups and site services
- General
- As part of a growing organization, contribute toward the development of standard operating procedures in all areas of influence, and continue to find new ways to improve quality and efficiency
- Assist with other duties as needed, and provide general support of the BPCS mission in whatever way possible
About You
- MAC and Google apps expertise desired
- Tier 2 support experience preferred
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organization, prioritization skills
- Ability to develop and implement strong systems
- Consistent follow-through
- 1+ years working experience in a relevant field; experience in a school environment preferred
- Able to independently advance work towards goals without significant oversight from manager
- Collaborative spirit and a team oriented player
Pay
The salary range for this role starts at $63,000, then increases based on years of experience. Our salaries are set through a lens of equity, and based on an individual’s skills, education, and years of experience relevant to the role.
