Network Engineer TS/SCI w/Poly

About the role

Peraton is seeking a Network Engineer to join their dynamic team in Annapolis Junction, MD. The ideal candidate will provide full spectrum network connectivity including architecture, engineering, development, integration, deployment, configuration management, project management, and network security services to the global enterprise, as well as systems and cloud engineering services for application modernization and transition of legacy applications into hybrid cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Supports the implementation of leading edge information technologies and methodologies for secure, worldwide, and highly reliable communications infrastructure.
• Provides architecture, design, development, testing, and implementation of Network Services for Wide Area Networks (WAN), Campus Area Networks (CAN), Data Center Networks (DCN), and Satellite Communications (SATCOM).
• Engages in network troubleshooting, router/switch configuration, Cisco IOS/Junos OS, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, network packet investigation/analysis tools, and database tools.
• Provides highly technical and specialized guidance and solutions to complex IT problems.

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years of IT related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, or related discipline.
• Fifteen (15) years total of IT related experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
• Active DOD 8570 IAT Level II certification or higher (i.e. Security+).
• Experience in at least two (2) of the following areas:
• Network troubleshooting
• Routers/switches
• Cisco IOS/Junos OS
• Firewalls
• Hubs/Bridges/gateways
• Network packet investigation/analysis tools
• Database tools

Qualifications

• Active/current TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph.

Skills

• Knowledge of network protocols and standards.
• Experience with network security best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
