About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Automation Product Manager to lead the strategy, design, and delivery of secure automation solutions across our enterprise network. This role blends deep technical expertise with strong product leadership to advance automation in a controlled, compliance-driven environment. You will champion secure-by-design automation capabilities that enhance resiliency, auditability, and operational excellence. This includes shaping the automation roadmap, driving cross-functional alignment, and enabling network-as-code practices that support predictable and compliant change execution at scale.
Responsibilities
- Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and maintain the product roadmap for secure automation across network environments.
- Identify and translate operational challenges into measurable automation initiatives.
- Establish and track KPIs such as automation coverage, change success rate, compliance adherence, and MTTR improvements.
- Design & Delivery of Secure Automation: Partner with network engineering, security, and compliance teams to design automation workflows that meet stringent governance and audit standards.
- Ensure automation designs align with change-control processes, rollback requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
- Oversee the development and evolution of network-as-code, intent-based networking, and policy-driven automation platforms.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with architects, engineers, security partners, and risk stakeholders to ensure alignment on technical design, compliance expectations, and implementation priorities.
- Champion a culture of safe experimentation, enabling teams to validate automation in sandbox environments before production rollout.
Qualifications
Senior level Product Manager candidates will have 6 to 9+ years of relevant experience and Advanced level Product Manager candidates will have 10+ years of relevant experience as follows:
- Required Technical Experience:
- Proven background in network engineering, including routing, switching, firewalls, segmentation, VPN services, and software-defined networking.
- Hands-on expertise with automation frameworks such as Ansible, Terraform, and Python.
- Strong understanding of zero-trust architecture, secure API access, credential vaulting, and related security patterns.
- Compliance & Governance:
- Familiarity with industry security and compliance frameworks such as NIST, FedRAMP, CMMC, and ISO 27001.
- Experience working in regulated or high-security environments (e.g., finance, defense, healthcare, government).
- Product Management Skills:
- Demonstrated experience owning a product roadmap and driving technical initiatives from concept through delivery.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, security, compliance, and leadership teams.

Pay
The hiring range for the Senior Product Manager is $113,000 - $155,000 annually, and the hiring range for the Advanced Product Manager is $135,000 - $186,800 annually. For candidates located near other System IT locations, outside of Richmond, VA, the listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location. Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
