About the role
The Network Administrator position at AMSOIL's Aerospace facility in Columbus, Ohio, is responsible for ensuring the stable and efficient operation of AMSOIL’s networks, systems, and telephony infrastructure. This role spans three core disciplines—Network Systems Administration, OS Systems Administration, and Telephony—and involves planning, developing, installing, configuring, testing, documenting, maintaining, and optimizing system performance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex technical challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Provide timely resolution of end-user hardware and software issues.
- Support system upgrades.
- Contribute to infrastructure projects that drive business success.
- Interpret and implement policies and procedures.
- Participate in resource planning.
- Manage project execution while tracking progress against goals.
- Contribute to the development of new processes.
- Evaluate emerging technologies for business impact.
- Build advanced cross-functional expertise across related disciplines.
Requirements
- Education and Experience: Associate's degree in related field preferred such as Computer Science. 5-8 years of related experience within a specific discipline.
- Demonstrates good working knowledge of the business.
- Utilizes systems tools to achieve business results while being a productive member of the department.
Qualifications
- Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
- Working technical knowledge of current systems software, hardware, protocols and standards.
- Strong knowledge of local area network administration.
- Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with data management.
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Proven experience in the design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems or products.
- Project management skills desired.
- Analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Logical and efficient.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
