Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled NetApp Subject Matter Expert to serve as a full-time resident consultant supporting a major enterprise client in a primarily remote capacity, with occasional on-site travel as needed. This is an exciting long-term engagement — beginning as a 2.5-month backfill with an additional 6-month extension — offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of hybrid and cloud storage infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and deploy NetApp storage solutions tailored to business needs, including capacity planning, performance tuning, and data migration
  • Manage and optimize ONTAP-based environments (AFF, FAS, Cloud Volumes), leveraging features such as snapshots, replication, and data protection
  • Implement and advise on FlexCache strategies to enhance performance and data locality
  • Deploy and manage Azure NetApp Files, including networking, security, and integration with Azure services such as vNET and IAM
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance, security, and operational issues in hybrid and cloud storage environments
  • Leverage NetApp BlueXP for centralized management and orchestration of Azure NetApp Files, Cloud Volumes ONTAP, and other NetApp platforms
  • Leverage NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights for environment monitoring, anomaly detection, capacity planning, and reporting
  • Use SAN Analyzer and other tools for block workload analysis and translate infrastructure metrics into actionable business intelligence
  • Design, implement, and manage NetApp MetroCluster environments to ensure high availability and disaster recovery for critical data storage systems
  • Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to NetApp MetroCluster systems and troubleshoot configuration-related issues
  • Develop and execute data migration strategies between on-premises and cloud environments
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment of storage solutions with business and technical objectives
  • Mentor team members on NetApp technologies and provide guidance on best practices across the storage environment
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices for NetApp solution management

Skills

  • Deep knowledge of ONTAP, AFF, FAS, and Cloud Volumes platforms including data protection features
  • Expertise in Azure NetApp Files architecture, deployment, performance tuning, and operational troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Cloud Volumes ONTAP for Azure architecture, deployment, and integration with Azure services
  • Strong experience with NAS and SAN storage platforms and support
  • Hands-on experience with FlexCache design and implementation
  • Proficiency in NetApp BlueXP for centralized cloud and on-premises storage orchestration
  • Experience with NetApp Data Infrastructure Insights (formerly Cloud Insights) for monitoring, anomaly detection, and capacity planning
  • Expertise in NetApp MetroCluster design, implementation, management, and troubleshooting
  • Strong performance optimization and workload analysis capabilities
  • Able to diagnose and resolve complex issues related to hybrid and cloud storage environments
  • Familiarity with Azure networking and security concepts including vNET and IAM
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and cross-functional team engagement skills
  • Ability to document technical processes and best practices clearly and thoroughly

Qualifications

  • NetApp Certified Storage Associate (NCSA) or higher-level NetApp certification preferred
  • Microsoft Azure certifications relevant to storage and infrastructure are a plus

Pay

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is: Min:$63/Hr Mid:$83/Hr Max:$105/Hr
