Neonatal Respiratory Therapist - 140532

About the role

The Neonatal Respiratory Therapist position is for NICU therapists with a desire to work with NICU patients. The primary location is La Jolla, but the position requires floating to the Hillcrest location as needed.

Responsibilities

• Attend high-risk deliveries and neonatal transport
• Conduct procedures including humidity and aerosol therapy, lung inflation maneuvers, and pulmonary secretion clearance methods
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment
• Monitor patients on continuous ventilator support and perform CPR
• Provide appropriate oxygen therapy and alter treatments based on respiratory care protocols
• Perform invasive and noninvasive monitoring and diagnostic techniques on NICU patients
• Care for infants requiring respiratory support such as oxygen, ventilation, and medications
• Manage respiratory therapy equipment
• Perform blood gas analysis
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and intubation assistance
• Assist with special procedures

Requirements

• Graduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP)
• BLS/CPR or BART certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date
• Previous directly related experience in a large, complex healthcare setting

Qualifications

• Current UCSD experience preferred
• Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (NPS) certification preferred
• Experience working in NICU and performing invasive and noninvasive monitoring and diagnostic techniques on NICU patients
• Experience working in the Delivery Room

Skills

• Ability to work various hours and locations based on business needs
• Knowledge of respiratory care protocols
• Ability to evaluate therapy outcomes
• Ability to troubleshoot and maintain patients on continuous mechanical support
• Knowledge of invasive and noninvasive monitoring and diagnostic techniques

Pay

Annual Full Pay Range: $101,602 - $126,366 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hiring Pay Scale: $48.66 - $60.52 / Hour
