Neonatal Pediatric Transport Registered Nurse- Clarksville

About the role

The Critical Care Neonatal and Pediatric Transport Team at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is a specialized and CAMTS accredited team responsible for providing the highest level of care in ground and fixed wing transport to patients requiring the resources at the children’s hospital.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to identify clinical needs.
• Initiates and manages patient care per protocol during ground and fixed wing transport:
  • Use of medication pumps
  • Advanced cardiac monitoring
  • Initiating respiratory treatments and all modalities of respiratory support (NC, HFNC, BCPAP, BIPAP, MV)
  • Supporting the RRT with use of High Frequency Ventilation and Nitric Oxide
  • Performing intubations
  • Performing needle decompressions
  • Insertion of Low Lying UVCs
  • Trouble shooting transport equipment
  • Working with the Registered Respiratory Therapist and EMT on transport to provide patient care.
• Run blood gases and glucose checks per POCT guidelines and interpret results.
• Maintain competencies required by institution, department, and CAMTs.
• Collaborate with receiving units at MCJCHV and referring facilities to coordinate patient transport.

Requirements

• 3 years experience in Pediatric ICU/CCU/ER or NICU

Qualifications

• LIC-Registered Nurse - Licensure

Skills

• Knowledgeable in nursing role and able to perform those duties within scope of practice to patients during transport.

Pay

Up to $10,000 (taxable) within 45 days of hire, based on geography. Must relocate from greater than 100 miles.

Schedule

Full-time nights (36 hours weekly)
