Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NICU)- PRN/Pool

About the role

The ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 22-bed facility providing specialized care for critically ill and premature infants. The NICU is staffed 24/7 by a dedicated team of neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, and support staff.

Responsibilities

- Manages neonatal patients using collaboration, consultation, and direct care. - Educates nursing staff, residents, and students. - Maintains credentials with procedural privileges through the medical staff offices at WMH and OMH. - Maintains Neonatal NCC certification. - Participates in multidisciplinary mortality and morbidity rounds. - Coordinates research activities within the NICU. - Provides procedural support to the ED for newborn/infant code blue.

Qualifications

- Positive attitude towards work and staff. - Excellent communication skills. - Competencies met within 6 months of hire. - Computer skills. - BLS and NRP certified upon hire. - Master’s degree required. - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license with the State of WI. - NICU experience preferred.
