Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)-PRN

About the role

Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan houses a 22-bed level 3 NICU staffed by 2 full-time clinical neonatologists and 4.5 neonatal nurse practitioners. This is the only NICU in the northern lower peninsula, serving a referral region spanning 150 miles.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive physical assessments of patients.
• Establishes medical diagnosis for common short-term or chronic health problems.
• Orders and interprets laboratory tests and performs diagnostic and invasive and noninvasive procedures.
• Prescribes medications in collaboration with the neonatologist.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP certification
• NRP instructor status is encouraged
• Completed advanced training program and certified by NCC as a neonatal nurse practitioner

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan
• Certified as Family Nurse Practitioner with the American Nurses Association
• Neonatal transport experience preferred

Pay

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 annually.

Schedule

The shift schedule is 24 hours in-house, with 3 shifts every 2 weeks constituting full time employment.
