About the role

We are seeking passionate educators like YOU to assist the NC Pre-K Lead Teacher in overseeing classroom activities, adhering to standards set by the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education, and aligning with the objectives of the current NC Pre-K Curriculum. In this supportive role, you'll contribute to creating a nurturing and positive atmosphere for children and their families, helping to forge strong, supportive relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation of a nurturing and positive atmosphere for children and their families.
  • Aid in the planning and implementation of learning experiences that promote various developmental domains, including physical health, social-emotional growth, cognitive abilities, and creative expression.
  • Assist with the customization of the curriculum to meet the unique needs of each child.
  • Observe and assess the children's development to inform instructional strategies.
  • Support the NC Pre-K Lead Teacher in achieving the School Readiness Goals.

Requirements

  • Passionate about early childhood education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff.
  • Experience working with children in a classroom setting preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Valid NC teaching license or ability to obtain one within six months of hire.
  • At least one year of full-time teaching experience preferred.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of child development theories and practices.

Pay and Benefits

  • Pay: 16-19 per hour, based on experience and education.
