About the role
The JSAF Advanced Warfare Scenarios (JAWS) Operator Support Team (JOST) member and Subject Matter Expert (SME) position is based at the Chamberlain Hall Global LVC (GLOC) Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Department. This role supports the Navy Training Baseline (NTB) and the Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative leadership to assigned personnel, exercising full responsibility for all administrative and coordination functions related to specific program elements.
- Nurture a culture of reliability-centered maintenance philosophy across all staffing levels.
- Develop successful applications of advanced predictive testing and inspection technologies to realize significant cost savings for planned maintenance activities.
- Work independently, collaboratively, and within a team to analyze and provide recommendations on issues related to military command control, electronic warfare, weapon systems, contingency operations, MTTP, force planning, and training exercises.
- Coordinate with user community representatives throughout all phases of development concerning requirements definition, clarification, prioritization, and alternatives.
- Analyze the conduct and results of operational user training, military maneuvers, or simulated wartime operations.
- Compare, analyze, and evaluate the relative merits of program designs and alternatives.
- Apply emerging doctrine and tactics from AWEs, ATDs, or Force XXI activities to system design and development.
- Assess the impact of programmatic and technical options on stated user requirements and doctrine.
- Prepare reports and briefs summarizing support requirements, deficiencies, and investments for various programs and systems.
Requirements
- 2 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in related field; or 0 years experience with a Master's degree in related field; or 6 years relevant experience with a High School diploma or equivalent.
- Experience supporting shipboard installations and increasing levels of management development.
- US Citizenship.
- Current Secret Clearance required.
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
- The ability to understand and troubleshoot technical information within multiple systems.
- A strong attention to detail.
- A strong customer focus and the ability to manage customer needs and multiple work priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Bonus Points For Having!
- Experience with multiple naval operating systems and networking equipment.
- CompTIA Security+ certification.
- RedHat desktop operating systems (RHEL 7/8) experience.
- Experience with patching Microsoft servers and workstations.
