Nativity Youth Director

Position title Nativity Youth Director Description The Youth Director will act as a bridge between the individual youth groups and the parish, overseeing the successful planning and execution of each program to maximize the enrichment of the Youth in their faith life. He/She will work directly with each leader in conjunction with the DRE and will report to the Pastor. 2 Main goals: Lead Teen Group and Oversee other Nativity Youth Groups Oversee all youth groups - Blue Knights, Little Flowers, Fidelis, Fraternus, Teen GroupMeet with leaders at the start of each year to discuss their plans for fundraising, advertising, etc.Get a report from the leaders each month that can be presented at the Parish Council meeting and attend Parish Council meetings each monthMake sure advertising is getting out and work with groups to make sure they are maximizing their abilities and assist with membershipHelp with communication between groups and the church, coordinate retreat activities with DRE, encourage Latino community to join all groups.Help with communication between external groups (neighboring groups of nearby churches)Help create a Middle School Youth group for 6th-8th gradersThe Youth Director will NOT be responsible for running Fraternus, Fidelis, Little Flowers or Blue Knights but rather assist in recruitment, communication and overall success of each group.Lead the Teen GroupOrganize, help facilitate and attend Sunday evening/Wednesday night Youth Group activities including studies in the faith. These studies will be decided by the group as to topics they may be interested in. (i.e.: incorruptible saints, Bible enrichment, evangelism, etc…) Focusing on large and small group activities.Organize quarterly service projectsHelp engage our adult volunteers, recruit new adult volunteers as needed, and help foster a community among themRun the Youth social media accounts which include InstagramCommunicate information to Communications Director that needs to be included in bulletin, flocknote, monitors and altar announcements on a weekly basisAssist with planning and executing fundraisers for our Teen GroupBe an example and help train youth volunteers to serve in the church. Assist with Confirmation retreats. Connect Nativity Youth with Diocesan youth activities and other camps, retreats (Search, Youth 2000, etc…) - work with Confirmation Coordinator and DRE Work with DRE to design and implement TOB program for teens and parents.Assist with VBS working directly with the DRE to plan and lead the teen portion in conjunction with the other age levelsAttend monthly Professional Development Meetings at the Pastoral Center when possible.
