National Service Technician/Trainer

About the role

Join Terex Utilities in Watertown, SD as a National Service Technician/Trainer. This role coordinates and performs on-location service and repair operations for company-manufactured products, delivers operator and mechanic training, and supports business objectives through technical expertise and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer calls on the Service Queue to diagnose issues and provide solutions for safe, efficient equipment operation.
• Identify and recommend parts/supplies needed to restore equipment to operational safety.
• Collaborate with engineering on technical matters and relay instructions to customers or distributors.
• Communicate equipment problems or enhancements to internal teams.
• Perform service/repair calls to diagnose, troubleshoot, and correct malfunctions.
• Maintain strong customer relationships to uphold company and product reputation.
• Work from complex engineering drawings, manuals, and verbal/written instructions.
• Prospect and secure additional training business as required.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute Factory Workshops in Watertown.
• Support branch customer and internal service schools.
• Assess and deliver training, including:
  • Operator training: ANSI, NCCCO Digger Derrick Operator Certification, NCCCO Foundation Drill Certification, Edge Training (Operator Safety).
  • Mechanic training: Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Inspections, Operation, Chassis Integration, FPS (Fluid Power Society).
• Enhance and update online training programs as needed.
• Perform international training when required.
• Produce Tech-tips, Service School PowerPoints, In-services, and other training materials.
• Perform additional duties to ensure smooth departmental operations.

Requirements

• Sedentary role with constant sitting; occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds and frequent lifting of 1–2 pounds.
• Minimum of five (5) years of industry experience.
• Ability to become an FPS Certified Instructor within one (1) year of hire.
• Ability to become an NCCCO Certified Digger Derrick Operator and Practical Examiner within one (1) year of hire.
• Ability to become an NCCCO Certified Foundation Drill Operator and Practical Examiner within one (1) year of hire (or six (6) months after program finalization).

Pay

Compensation range: $26–$35 per hour, based on education, experience, certifications, and other factors.
