About the role
The National Intensive Care Clinical Lead will provide clinical and operational leadership for all clinical areas of the national organ donation and transplant service relating to Critical Care, with a clear focus on driving strategic direction, clinical excellence, and quality outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Earn trust and respect through clinical excellence and ethical practice
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, embedding clinical excellence throughout the service
- Leverage EU Directives, national legislation, and international best practices to inform and evolve service delivery standards
- Lead the development, implementation, and critical review of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as well as Policy Guideline development related to the Organ Donation Pathway and other performance metrics
- Maintain high standards of patient care and safety
- Collaborate with the ODTI Executive Management Team to ensure alignment with strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and evolving patient and family needs
Requirements
- Experience in critical care and organ donation/transplantation
- Proven leadership skills in a healthcare setting
- Strong understanding of EU Directives, national legislation, and international best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Qualifications
- MBBS, MD, FRCA, FRCPC, or equivalent
- Registered with the Medical Council of Ireland
