The Clinical Manager of the Lung Transplant Center is a key leader responsible for overseeing clinical operations, ensuring quality care, and driving program growth. The caregiver provides strategic and operational leadership across peri‑operative and post‑transplant care, ensuring seamless coordination, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality patient outcomes while supervising a multidisciplinary team and serving as a liaison between nursing, surgical, and medical leadership.

Schedule

Days plus on‑call shifts from 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the nursing component of the organ transplant program.
• Ensure continuing nursing job satisfaction and fulfillment through appropriate coordinator responsibilities, workload management, teamwork, and staff morale.
• Ensure patient safety and quality assurance, especially in the development of the Living Donor Program (kidney and liver only).
• Establish QA metrics and focus areas for CQDirect.
• Direct managerial responsibility of the clinical nurse coordinators and matrix management responsibilities with managers of the OR, ICUs, and inpatient floors (adult and pediatrics).
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

• BSN.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
• Five years of experience in organ procurement or transplantation.
• Managerial experience including hiring, orientation, scheduling, and evaluation of employees in a clinical environment.
• Experience with quality management and quality improvement.

Preferred qualifications

• MSN.
• Nursing certification in a specialty area.
• Detailed knowledge of UNOS and OSOTC policies and program standards related to organ transplantation and allocation.
• Supervisory experience.
• Transplant experience.
• Understanding of Oracle, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical requirements

Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination; standing and walking for extensive periods; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; occasional exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids; exerting 20–50 lb of force occasionally, 10–25 lb frequently, or up to 10 lb constantly to move objects. Personal protective equipment is used according to standard precautions.

Pay

Minimum annual salary: $92,620.00
Maximum annual salary: $141,265.00
Compensation is determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education, and does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of the benefits package.
