About the role

DonorConnect is seeking a full-time Clinical Manager, Organ Recovery to oversee, support, and guide the Organ Recovery department. This position is responsible for the supervision, management, and training of staff, as well as the daily operations of organ recovery. The Clinical Manager coordinates organ procurement functions and activities of Organ Donation Coordinators, ensuring compliance with DonorConnect, UNOS, and AOPO policies, programs, objectives, and strategies. The role ensures services are professionally and efficiently delivered while collaborating regularly with the Operations Manager, Organ Recovery Supervisors, Organ Referral Manager, and Referral Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, manage, and train Organ Recovery department staff.
  • Oversee daily operations of organ recovery, including procurement functions and activities.
  • Ensure compliance with DonorConnect, UNOS, and AOPO policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support departmental objectives and strategies.
  • Manage brain-dead donors through critical thinking, problem-solving, and resourcefulness.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure professional, efficient service delivery.
  • Work effectively with hospital personnel and within institutional guidelines.
  • Train and assist others in the department.

Requirements

  • Maintain healthcare licensure (RN preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of five years’ healthcare experience, with OPO (Organ Procurement Organization) experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the organ and tissue transplant fields and the critical care environment.
  • Proficiency with computer hardware and software.
  • Excellent public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel in hospital settings.
  • Willingness to train and assist others.
