About the role
Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a National Director of Service Sales to lead the company's national recurring revenue strategy, execution, and sales program implementation and expansion across all regions.
This role is responsible for achieving service order intake, contract retention, and service margin performance in accordance with the annual budget. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this leader plays a critical role in scaling predictable, high-margin recurring revenue and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all company safety initiatives and reinforce a strong safety-first culture.
- Accountable for budgeted service order intake, recurring service revenue, contract retention, and service margin performance.
- Lead the expansion of Sciens Service Suite (S3) to increase share of wallet and drive standardized, bundled service offerings across the platform.
- Partner with Regional and Divisional leadership to drive national service sales strategy focused on renewals, cross-sell, attach rates, and multi-service bundling (S3).
- Drive disciplined pipeline management, renewal forecasting, and opportunity execution to improve visibility, consistency, and conversion rates.
- Ensure effective vertical market alignment and territory design to maximize long-term account penetration and retention.
- Tech Stack: Ensure adoption and utilization of CRM and performance tracking systems.
- Establish and grow strategic and executive level relationships with national and multi-location customers, property managers, and asset owners to drive recurring revenue growth.
- Partner with the Chief Marketing Officer to execute targeted campaigns focused on retention, lifecycle selling, and service growth.
- Drive consistent pipeline management, renewal forecasting, and opportunity execution to improve visibility, consistency, and conversion rates.
- Support, mentor, and develop service sales leadership to drive consistency, accountability, and performance across all Regions and Divisions.
- Maintain and monitor performance through key metrics including percent-to-quota, renewal rates, contract growth, margin, and forecast accuracy; recognize top performers and address underperformance.
- Conduct monthly business reviews with Regional Sales Managers focused on retention, pipeline health, and revenue predictability.
- Participate in annual planning and budgeting, aligning service revenue, contract base growth, and margin targets across all divisions.
- Support Plan to Make Plan (P2MP) reviews to assess contract health, retention trends, and expansion opportunities.
- Partner with Operations and Finance to ensure service delivery excellence, contract profitability, and cash flow performance.
- Ensure commission policies are applied consistently, with clear governance around renewals, upselling, and new service sales.
- Work with People & Culture and Division leadership to build scalable service sales teams aligned with growth objectives.
- Travel nationally up to 60% to support customer engagement, team development, and performance execution.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in fire detection, security, and life safety, with national or multi-region responsibility.
- Proven ability to drive order intake, scale recurring revenue businesses, improve contract retention, and drive margin expansion.
- Strong background in service-based sales models, including renewals, multi-site accounts, and lifecycle selling.
- Experience managing forecasts, budgets, and performance metrics in a recurring revenue environment.
- Demonstrated success influencing across a decentralized, matrixed organization.
- Exceptional communication and executive presence with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven leader with a track record of building and developing high-performing, accountable teams.
- Deep knowledge of service delivery models, fire alarm, life safety, and integrated systems.
- Strong financial acumen with clear understanding of P&L drivers, service margins, and retention economics.
