National Accounts Manager
About the Role
The National Accounts Manager is responsible for selling and executing sales and marketing programs for key national chain accounts. This includes planning, executing, and coordinating the Annual Business Plan for assigned customers while driving accountability at the distributor level. The position also focuses on the development and profitability of assigned market segments and building rapport with high-level personnel from marketing, operations, and category management to achieve sales goals. The role involves developing and implementing National Sales Programs within assigned accounts.
Responsibilities
- Sell new and expanded distribution of Constellation National Accounts Beer Division brands to multi-unit, regional, and franchise chain accounts, including large format grocery, mass merchandisers, convenience stores, and multi-unit drug store chains.
- Develop, sell, and implement custom-created promotional programs for listed off-premise accounts.
- Communicate sales results to Constellation Brands field sales and distributor networks to ensure execution of retail plans and promotions.
- Sell against national priorities and leverage national retail promotions alongside customized regional programs to deliver sales and distribution plans.
- Work with National Sales Team Leads or Channel Vice Presidents to meet annual business plans by developing national and regional off-premise chain account programming.
- Act as the primary business contact and partner between Constellation Brands and the national account business base to establish Constellation as the category leader.
- Manage budget allocations, ROI, and other financial responsibilities, including travel and expense budgets and Constellation Tactical Funds (CTF).
- Prepare and deliver detailed and professional sales presentations for account business reviews and sales calls.
- Uncover opportunities and grow volume in the target account base.
- Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent job experience in the consumer products industry.
- A minimum of 5-8 years of sales experience in the beverage alcohol industry (beer-specific preferred), with at least three years of experience selling to off-premise chain retailers.
- A strong understanding of category management is required.
- Proven track record in building strong relationships with retail customers, internal associates, and wholesalers.
- Demonstrated ability to gather and use customer feedback to identify customer and market needs and challenges.
- Demonstrated diligence and ability to follow through on all commitments (internal and external stakeholders).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to achieve performance goals with minimal direction.
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of syndicated data and its applicability to beverage alcohol categories.
- Computer literacy with the ability to use software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email programs like IBM Lotus Notes.
- Technical skills required for preparing professional and effective sales presentations.
- Ability to use business information tools such as MicroStrategy, Numerator, and specialized customer tools.
- Ability to travel up to 40% of working time, including up to 5 hours of driving time.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $105,100.00 - $164,400.00. This range reflects the lowest to highest salary the company believes it would pay for this role at the time of posting, based on cost of labor. For remote locations or positions open to multiple locations, the pay range may reflect several U.S. geographic markets. The employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on factors including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business needs.
