As a National Account Manager, you will drive omni-channel relationship building, strategic direction, and best-in-class execution to achieve sales and profitability goals. You’ll maintain close communication with buying and other key contacts to determine customer needs while aligning with company goals and strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Align company strategy with retail account direction and goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships at all levels of the retail customer.
  • Oversee current product listings, identify new business opportunities, and manage new product launches.
  • Develop strategies for profitable growth of customer and categories.
  • Create monthly sales and demand forecasts.
  • Work cross-functionally within the organization.
  • Monitor industry trends, competition, and account changes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key national accounts.
  • Understand the unique needs and objectives of each account.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional products/services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop strategic account plans.
  • Execute strategies to achieve long-term business objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with national accounts.
  • Resolve issues or conflicts that may arise during the relationship.
  • Communicate the value proposition of products/services to national accounts.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to internal stakeholders and national accounts.
  • Identify and address challenges or obstacles impacting account success.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis.

Requirements

  • Trained in strategic negotiations.
  • Experience leveraging data into actionable insights.
  • Radical curiosity about retail and the constantly changing marketplace.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to proactively and creatively problem-solve.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally.
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving sales targets.
  • Familiarity with industry and market dynamics relevant to the company’s products/services.
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management.
  • At least 3–5 years of current CPG account management experience working with retailers.
  • Account management experience with Ulta preferred.
  • Current experience with item-level forecasting.
  • Proven experience in sales, account management, or a related field.
  • Experience managing national or key accounts is preferred.

Schedule

This is a remote role with occasional travel required for meetings.
