Responsibilities
- Gain vertical and horizontal access to various stakeholders within each account in order to manage coverage policies, prior authorization/reauthorization processes, SoC provider relations initiatives and pharmacy department administration of pharmacy benefit medications and utilization interventions
- Develop an extensive understanding of payer's organizational goals in order to assess their needs and develop plans/programs to meet both the needs of the customer and those of Pharvaris
- Communicate internally with details surrounding payer utilization management criteria, coverage policies, and guidelines specific to Pharvaris products and impacts to patient coverage
- Create and maintain Strategic Payer Account Plans while ensuring rapid and profitable access for all Pharvaris products
- Maintain relationships with senior managed care medical and pharmacy executives based on an understanding of the customer’s organizational structure and strategic priorities to support broad coverage policies
- Subject matter experts to communicate the value of the Pharvaris portfolio with payers and other organizations evaluating our portfolio for coverage or formulary inclusion
- Maintain a high level of knowledge of HAE and the market landscape
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, required
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience in market access or as a national account director, preferably in the field of rare disease or more specifically hereditary angioedema (HAE)
- Strong, established payer relationships across the national and regional commercial payers, PBMs, and government (Medicaid, Medicare, VA/DoD, Tricare) landscape. Established relationships with Optum, CVS, or ESI is preferred
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams required
- Rare disease and launch experience preferred
- Subject matter expert within the Market Access to include knowledge of pharmacy and medical benefits designs across the payer landscape
- Excellent negotiation and/or major account selling skills
- Excellent communication (written & verbal), interpersonal influencing skills and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders
- Payer contracting and management experience
- Government / Federal experience preferred
- Up to 65% travel may be required
