About the Role

This position consists of skilled workers who possess the required knowledge, skill, and physical ability to perform construction and maintenance work in the gas distribution, underground utilities, and gas service lines. The role involves daily interactions with the public and performing duties as directed by a foreman.

Operators use equipment such as backhoes, excavators, vibratory or static plows, trenchers, or directional bore machines for the installation, removal, or maintenance of underground utilities and pipe installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction and maintenance duties related to the natural gas industry.
• Operate within short time frames as needed to complete tasks.
• Interact professionally with customers and the public.
• Collaborate effectively with team members.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures per DC, LLC standards and utility customer requirements.
• Load material or equipment for transport from the show-up yard to the job site and secure as appropriate.
• Place, remove, or maintain underground utilities, including carrying pipe, bags of material, jackhammering, shoveling, tamping, and installing pipe, duct, or cable.
• Secure the work site, equipment, and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety and the protection of equipment and materials.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain a CDL.
• Three years of prior operating experience in underground construction.
• Gas construction experience.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work in a team environment.
