Music Therapist - Per Diem - Community Hospice

About the Role

The Music Therapist will provide complementary therapy services to all levels of care (hospitals, nursing homes, and patients' homes) as an important member of our healthcare team, serving Hospice patients in Home Care, Nursing Home, or Inpatient settings.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for direct care and evaluation of patients.
• Formulation and implementation of treatment programs tailored to the specific needs of each patient.

Requirements

• A current license to practice as a Music Therapist or Certified Music Practitioner in the state of New York.
• Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license and available automobile for travel throughout the service area.
• Experience working with computers, including laptops, email, cell phones, and basic software programs.
• Confidence in providing electronic clinical notes and documentation regarding patient sessions.
• High level of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain relationships with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Prefer two years of professional experience in a music discipline.
• Previous home care, hospice, or health-related experience is important.

Pay

Pay Range: $24.85 - $31.00 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
