Music Therapist - Hospice

About the role

Absolutely essential is your passion for music therapy and your ability to connect deeply with patients and their families at the end of life. You’ll be working alongside a dedicated team to offer comfort, joy, and dignity through music.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional status, music-related responses, and preferences
• Develop individualized treatment plans to help patients meet goals
• Deliver music therapy using instruments, singing, movement, and listening
• Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care
• Participate in meetings, training, and quality improvement initiatives
• Educate patients, families, caregivers, and staff on treatment plans

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in music therapy from an AMTA-approved program
• Board-certified (MT-BC) by CBMT
• Preferred: 2 years clinical music therapy experience
• Valid driver’s license with insured, reliable vehicle
• Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
• Understanding of hospice philosophy and end-of-life issues
