About the Role
As a Hospice Music Therapist, you will conduct music therapy assessments, plan and implement therapeutic interventions, and guide patients in creative activities to enhance their mental and physical well-being. You will evaluate therapy effectiveness, provide staff in-services, participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, and support bereavement programs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct music therapy assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions using music and creative activities.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of therapy and adjust plans as needed.
- Provide in-services and training to staff on music therapy practices.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate patient care.
- Support bereavement programs for patients and their families.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and teams to deliver personalized music therapy.
- Advocate for patient needs and contribute to comprehensive hospice care.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Music or a related field from an AMTA-approved program.
- Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential.
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license.
- Experience with terminally ill patients is preferred.
