About the role
The Hermon School Department seeks a Music Teacher to join their team. The position requires candidates to have or be eligible for Maine Department of Education certification [614 Music Grades K-12] and a Criminal History Record Check (CHRC).
Job Goal
To structure a learning environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge in accordance with each pupil’s ability; and to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Requirements
- Maine Department of Education certification [614 Music Grades K-12]
- Criminal History Record Check (CHRC)
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching music and a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment. Experience working with students in grades K-12 is preferred but not required.

- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices
