Responsibilities

• Developing schedules, lesson plans, and teaching methods that cover required content and follow the curriculum with skill and fidelity.
• Managing a classroom to create an atmosphere of respect.
• Aiding scholars in building foundational habits that cultivate virtues such as courage, honesty, and perseverance.
• Contributing to the school's life through participation in events, clubs, and other activities.
• Assisting with teacher duties as needed.
• Communicating with parents regularly and professionally about student conduct and progress.
• Preparing and delivering stimulating and clear lessons.
• Complying with all relevant school policies and state and federal laws and regulations.
• Setting up tests, assignments, and grading students fairly.
• Attending staff and parent meetings, conferences, workshops, and other professional development.
• Ensuring a safe, healthy classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Preparing lesson plans for substitute teachers.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency in one or more instrument preferred.
• Experience in a classical environment preferred.
• Valid teaching license or certificate, or willingness to pursue one.
• A willingness to work hard and maintain a positive, professional attitude and demeanor.
• A commitment to teamwork, service, leadership, and growth.
• Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• An understanding of childhood development, patience, good humor, and professionalism.
• Basic skills with technology.
