About the role
The Municipal Funding & Grant Strategist supports the growth of Verdantas' government and municipal planning services across the Northeast. The role focuses on helping public-sector clients secure funding for planning and infrastructure initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Identify, track, and evaluate federal, state, and regional funding programs relevant to municipal planning and infrastructure projects
- Support development of grant strategies tied to comprehensive plans, transportation plans, stormwater and watershed studies, resilience initiatives, and capital improvement programs
- Lead or support the preparation of grant applications, including narratives, benefit-cost framing, and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with planning and engineering teams to create funding-ready scopes and planning + funding service bundles
- Assist government market leaders with pursuit strategy, proposal development, and positioning related to funded programs
- Engage with municipal staff, agencies, and partners to align project priorities with available funding sources
- Maintain internal tools or resources that track funding programs, deadlines, and awarded grants
Requirements
Preferred location within the Northeast Area (New England, New York, and the MidAtlantic).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field
- 5–10+ years of experience working with public-sector funding, grants, or government programs
- Demonstrated experience supporting or leading grant applications for municipal or infrastructure-related projects
- Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical planning concepts into clear funding narratives
- Familiarity with municipal planning processes and infrastructure programs is strongly preferred

Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000, with final compensation determined based on years of experience, qualifications, and licensing status
