About the role
Join Froedtert ThedaCare and lead the full lifecycle of grant funding—from opportunity identification to proposal development, award management, compliance, reporting, and renewals.
Responsibilities
- Research and identify public and private grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities.
- Maintain a grants calendar for deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewals.
- Partner with leadership and program teams to assess funding needs and project feasibility.
- Lead the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals, letters of inquiry, budgets, narratives, and supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with finance, legal/compliance, leadership, and program teams.
- Ensure every proposal meets sponsor guidelines and organizational policies.
- Manage grants from award through closeout.
- Develop and maintain the infrastructure for federally required Internal Controls in accordance with 2 CFR 200, GAAP, and industry best practices.
- Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, allowable costs, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain complete grant documentation and oversee institutional registrations in federal portals.
- Prepare timely financial and programmatic reports.
- Track grant performance metrics and outcomes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for funders, federal agencies, General Counsel, auditors, and external partners.
- Support audits, monitoring reviews, and site visits.
- Lead the Froedtert ThedaCare grant portfolio within the grant management software platform.
- Lead and support the Grant Management team.
- Develop grant-related policies, procedures, systems, and internal controls.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on grant requirements and best practices while fostering strong relationships with funders and partners.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, finance, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in grant management, proposal writing, or sponsored programs.
- Demonstrated success securing and managing grants.
- Strong knowledge of grant compliance, budgeting, and reporting.
- Exceptional writing, organizational, analytical, communication, and project management skills.
Preferred
- Master's degree or professional certification.
- Experience managing government grants and complex compliance environments.
- Familiarity with grant management software and financial systems.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong analytical skills.

What You'll Bring
