The News Department at TelevisaUnivision is looking for a Multimedia Journalist to join their team. The successful candidate should be committed to serving the local community.

ABOUT YOU

• Responsible for generating story ideas and building relationships with community leaders, government officials, and local authorities.
• Present reports clearly, concisely, and objectively; develop and execute enterprising stories and sweeps series ideas.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team and independently to complete stories from start to finish.
• Interact with viewers through all Univision media platforms.

YOUR DAY-DAY

• Gather information, conduct interviews, shoot video, produce, report, and edit assigned stories daily.
• Post video, pictures, and stories to website, Facebook, and other social media outlets under the direction of Digital content producers.
• Maintain knowledge of local, state, and national news and events.
• Establish and maintain professional relationships with community contacts.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by interacting effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and the community.
• Operate independently in various weather conditions while reporting on-site.

YOUR BACKGROUND

• A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or television broadcasting is preferred.
• One year of newsroom experience is required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Excellent command of both Spanish and English, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in newsroom computer systems and applications (hardware/software).
• Knowledge of iNews, video editing software (Avid, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut), and file sharing systems is preferred.
• Advanced skills in field camera operation, equipment, and editing systems.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to eight hours without restriction.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds for extended periods.
