About the role
The Multi-Building Custodian (On Site) position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for students and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each day and ensure all doors and windows are secured and lights are turned off.
- Maintain a regular service schedule on all motors, mechanical equipment, ballasts, lights, and regulate heat, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Shovel, plow, and/or sand walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps as necessary.
- Check daily to ensure all exit doors are operating properly.
- Dust furniture according to a weekly schedule.
- Sweep and vacuum classrooms daily.
- Able to wet/dry strip wax on floors, required for yearly maintenance.
- Able to wax floors for yearly maintenance.
- Clean corridors during the day as often as is required.
- Scrub and disinfect toilet floors daily, clean all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains.
- Wash all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice a year and more frequently if necessary.
- Keep all floors in a clean and attractive condition and in a good state of preservation.
- Clean all chalkboards/whiteboards at least once a week.
- Move furniture and equipment within buildings as required for various activities as directed by the principal.
- Make such minor building repairs as he/she is capable of performing.
- Report major repairs needed promptly to the building principal through maintenance request.
- Perform such yard keeping chores as necessary to maintain the school grounds in a safe, attractive condition.
- Report immediately to the building principal any damage to school property.
- Remain on the school premises during school hours and during non-school hours when the use of the building has been authorized and his attendance required by the principal.
- If an elementary building, perform weekly playground inspections (with paperwork and maintenance as required).
- Perform weekend building check including freezers, HVAC, doors, and lights.
- Will be in a scheduled rotation with Senior High for weekend activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED
- Participate in training as needed
Evaluation
Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district’s Personnel Evaluation Policy.
Terms of Employment
- 12 months; Full Time
