About the role
The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is seeking Entry Level Police Officers to serve on its bus, metro, light rail, and MARC Train/Commuter Bus Systems.
Responsibilities
- Enforcing laws, rules, and regulations
- Performing safety and security duties
- Patrolling in motor vehicles or on foot
- Responding to trespassers and suspicious persons
- Directing vehicular traffic and enforcing parking regulations
- Issuing verbal and written warnings or issuing summonses and making arrests
- Investigating accidents and criminal acts
- Writing clear and accurate accident and/or unusual incident reports
- Responding to disturbances and emergencies
- Rendering emergency first aid
- Transporting suspects in State vehicles
- Participating in additional training as required
Qualifications
- Age/Citizenship: At least 20 ½ years of age and a citizen of the United States
- High School Diploma or GED
- Selection Process: Written Examination, Physical Agility Test, Oral Interview, Background Investigation, Polygraph Examination, Medical Examination
Requirements
- A recent copy of your non-certified total driving record from the MVA
- A photocopy of your current Driver's License
