MSW Social Work Intern

Job Summary

The MSW Social Work Intern will support the Dean of Students Office in promoting student success and well-being. Under the supervision of an LCSW, this role provides direct experience in higher education student services, crisis response, case management, and advocacy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide supportive case management for students experiencing personal, academic, or mental health challenges.
• Assist in crisis intervention and follow-up support under supervision.
• Participate in behavioral intervention processes as appropriate.
• Collaborate with campus partners (e.g., Center for Health Counseling Services, Accessibility & Disability Services, Academic Advising) to coordinate student support.
• Help develop and facilitate workshops or outreach programs on wellness, resilience, and resource awareness.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in accordance with FERPA and ethical standards.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Master of Social Work (MSW) program with approval from the program to participate in practicum.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of foundational social work coursework.
• Experience in crisis response, advocacy, or student support.
