MSW Intern

Major Duties

• Provide ongoing individual casework counseling to youth in foster care
• Work with youth on a weekly basis to achieve specific goals that will assist them with achieving the goal of APPLA
• Attend team meetings involving the youth
• Develop resources and linkages to meet the youth's needs
• Develop and run groups for youth who are in foster care to work on specific issues that arise as they work towards independence
• Collaborate and coordinate with other Good Shepherd Services team members and relevant staff
• Attend workshops and trainings that will support work with youth in foster care

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work cohesively as part of an inter-disciplinary team
• Must have a commitment to work from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective
