MSW Student Intern
Job Specifics
Pay Range: $12/hr.
Benefits Eligible: No
FTE: part-time, temporary employee
Shift: flexible and dependent on both intern and department needs
Job Essentials
- Develop clinical skills related to providing biopsychosocial assessments and related diagnosis;
Create treatment plans;
Perform risk assessment and crisis intervention;
Create effective disposition plans;
Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy.
Education
- Opportunities include weekly interdisciplinary didacts, individual supervision, and teaching and learning rounds.
Experience
- Participate in a variety of projects that support the needs of the department/facility.
- Attend team/department meetings and actively participate.
- Use opportunities to share knowledge and skills that are pertinent to the topic.
Qualifications
- Current enrollment in and progressing through their education in a CSWE-accredited MSW program.
- Must provide documentation of enrollment in such program, as well as any earned degree or certification that may be required.
- Proficiency in the knowledge and skills in the field directly related to the internship opportunity.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrate initiative and willingness to take on additional assignments when needed.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently.
Minimum Qualifications

- Expertise with Microsoft Office suite.
- Experience with Epic EMR.

The work experience and projects are related the student's field of study and support Intermountain's mission, vision and values. Located in the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains, Primary Children’s Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center, and tertiary care children’s hospital serving children and adolescents from Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, and Montana. Primary Children’s Hospital is owned by Intermountain Healthcare and is the pediatric specialty teaching hospital for the University of Utah School of Medicine.
