About the role

We are seeking a Process Development Scientist to join our messenger-RNA (mRNA) process development team. The successful candidate will contribute to early and operational technology development, including the production and analysis of RNA constructs and preparative/purification chromatography.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in vitro transcription (IVT) and purification experiments (chromatography, tangential flow filtration).
  • Conduct analytical methods such as capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), Akta chromatography, HPLC, and ELISA.
  • Process and summarize data for team members and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare buffers, reagents, and stock solutions following established recipes and SOPs.
  • Maintain an updated lab notebook, order materials, and support lab equipment troubleshooting.
  • Uphold the highest standards of lab safety.

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, biochemistry, or a related field with 1+ years of relevant laboratory experience, or M.S. degree in the same fields with at least 6 months of relevant laboratory experience.
  • Experience with molecular biology and RNA biochemistry methods, including IVT.
  • Experience with tangential flow filtration (TFF), capillary gel electrophoresis (CGE), Akta chromatography, HPLC, and ELISA.
  • Familiarity with good documentation practices and electronic lab notebooks (e.g., Benchling).
  • Unwavering commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, data analysis, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, multitask, follow SOPs, and comply with company policies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing processes for RNA-LNP, protein, mAB, or AAV therapeutics or vaccines (RNA therapeutics experience preferred).

Pay

$32.00–$41.00 per hour, based on education and related experience.

Schedule

Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. Candidates within a commutable distance of Boston, MA are encouraged to apply.
