About the Role
The Advanced MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Technologist operates imaging equipment and software, primarily MRI equipment, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining high-quality imaging standards. The Advanced MRI Technologist demonstrates a strong commitment to patient care, technical expertise, and collaborative communication with patients and healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI equipment and imaging software to acquire high-quality diagnostic images.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes.
- Maintain high standards of imaging quality and adhere to complex instructions.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program with completion of required clinical hours.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
- State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
- Certification/Registration: ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software.
- Strong communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
