MRI TECHNOLOGIST (PRN) - IMAGING
About the role
This is a per-diem position that may be one day a week, including weekends. The MRI Technologist performs various specialized tasks related to MR scans, ensuring compliance with departmental and legal standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform MR duties in accordance with Imaging Department and legal requirements.
- Imaging appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols.
- Ensure equipment operation by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment inventories.
- Administer contrast agents according to site-specific protocols under guidance and approval of the Radiologist.
- Aid in interventional MR procedures as directed by the Radiologist.
- Prepare patients for MR procedures by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting up equipment.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, providing first aid, and using the emergency cart.
- Safeguard patients and employees by screening all individuals entering the MRI scanning environment according to established criteria and safety guidelines.
- Maintain high-quality MR images by following established standards and procedures.
- Document patient care services in patient and department records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program.
- MR Registered, registry eligible, or actively documenting cases performed to apply for registry within 18 months of acceptance.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated eligibility for employment in the United States.
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities.
Qualifications
