MRI TECHNOLOGIST (PRN) - IMAGING

About the role

This is a per-diem position that may be one day a week, including weekends. The MRI Technologist performs various specialized tasks related to MR scans, ensuring compliance with departmental and legal standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform MR duties in accordance with Imaging Department and legal requirements.
• Imaging appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols.
• Ensure equipment operation by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and maintaining equipment inventories.
• Administer contrast agents according to site-specific protocols under guidance and approval of the Radiologist.
• Aid in interventional MR procedures as directed by the Radiologist.
• Prepare patients for MR procedures by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, and setting up equipment.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, providing first aid, and using the emergency cart.
• Safeguard patients and employees by screening all individuals entering the MRI scanning environment according to established criteria and safety guidelines.
• Maintain high-quality MR images by following established standards and procedures.
• Document patient care services in patient and department records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program.
• MR Registered, registry eligible, or actively documenting cases performed to apply for registry within 18 months of acceptance.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated eligibility for employment in the United States.
• Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities.

Qualifications
