MRI TECHNOLOGIST (PRN) - IMAGING

About the role

This is a per-diem position that may be one day a week, including weekends. The MRI Technologist performs various tasks related to MR scans, ensuring compliance with departmental and legal standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform MR duties in accordance with Imaging Department and legal requirements.
• Conduct MR imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in line with accepted standards and protocols.
• Ensure proper operation of MR equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to manufacturer's instructions.
• Administer contrast agents according to site-specific protocols under the guidance of the Radiologist.
• Aid Radiologists during interventional MR procedures.
• Assist patients by positioning them appropriately, adjusting immobilization devices, and preparing them for MR procedures.
• Protect patients and employees by following infection-control policies and protocols, providing first aid, and using the emergency cart.
• Screen patients, family members, and visitors for entry into the MRI scanning environment according to established criteria and safety guidelines.
• Maintain high-quality MR images by adhering to established standards and procedures.
• Document patient care services accurately in patient and department records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program.
• MR Registered, registry eligible, or actively documenting cases performed to apply for registry within 18 months of starting the position.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated eligibility for employment in the United States.
• Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for personal growth and advancement.
