MRI TECHNOLOGIST (PRN) - IMAGING
About the role
This is a per-diem position that may be one day a week, including weekends. The MRI Technologist performs various tasks related to MR scans, ensuring compliance with departmental and legal standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform MR duties in accordance with Imaging Department and legal requirements.
- Conduct MR imaging procedures on appropriate anatomical regions in line with accepted standards and protocols.
- Ensure proper operation of MR equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to manufacturer's instructions.
- Administer contrast agents according to site-specific protocols under the guidance of the Radiologist.
- Aid Radiologists during interventional MR procedures.
- Assist patients by positioning them appropriately, adjusting immobilization devices, and preparing them for MR procedures.
- Protect patients and employees by following infection-control policies and protocols, providing first aid, and using the emergency cart.
- Screen patients, family members, and visitors for entry into the MRI scanning environment according to established criteria and safety guidelines.
- Maintain high-quality MR images by adhering to established standards and procedures.
- Document patient care services accurately in patient and department records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate from an approved two-year Radiologic Technology program.
- MR Registered, registry eligible, or actively documenting cases performed to apply for registry within 18 months of starting the position.
- Current BLS certification required.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated eligibility for employment in the United States.
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for personal growth and advancement.
