MRI Technologist (PRN)

About the role

This PRN (as-needed) position is responsible for performing diagnostic MRI procedures, patient preparation, safety screenings, and supporting departmental workflow. The role requires independently conducting MRI exams on both adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and equipment for MRI procedures
  • Perform MRI studies independently, including portable and on-call exams
  • Ensure MRI safety and compliance with protocols
  • Support quality control measures within the department

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher in a related field
  • Certification as a Registered Technologist in Radiography (R.T.(R)) and/or MR
  • Preferred experience of less than 2 years in radiology or medical imaging

Qualifications

  • IEMA (Illinois) certification (advantageous)
  • Additional credentials such as CPR and IV therapy (advantageous)

Skills

  • Knowledge of MRI safety and procedures
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong patient care skills
  • Familiarity with advanced imaging modalities
