About the role

This PRN position reports to the Director of Radiology and is located in Chandler, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Performs MRI procedures by following and verifying referring providers’ orders.
  • Uses independent judgment and applies learned methodologies according to established policy and procedures.
  • Educates patients and families regarding procedures and treatments to be performed.
  • Demonstrates professional behavior and conduct in all interactions; fosters teamwork, efficient use of resources, and quality patient outcomes.
  • Produces high-quality images and prepares/presents them with other pertinent patient information for timely interpretation.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate documentation.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing prescribed invasive/interventional procedures in accordance with established policies, if applicable.
  • Performs and evaluates equipment quality control measurements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and notifies appropriate personnel to maintain equipment performance.
  • Accountable for the ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities related to radiology practice, including maintaining confidentiality of all work information.
  • Assures the efficient operation of workflow of the department.
  • Monitors and maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and material to ensure non-interruption of services.
  • Independently performs prescribed procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety protocols established by the medical director or generated by federal, state, and local requirements, and by other oversight or accrediting agencies.
  • Reports any medical errors, mishaps, or near misses stemming from any source, including personnel and equipment performance, to the medical director (and, if applicable, to the supervising physician).
  • Maintains current credentials necessary to operate applicable imaging systems and experience/training set forth in RadSite standards.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in MRI in an outpatient setting with Siemens equipment (preferred).
  • Service-oriented approach, flexible, and proactive.
  • Self-motivated and able to grasp new concepts quickly.
  • Ability to work in strict compliance with all procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
  • Ability to excel in a team environment.
  • Superior attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in MRI (required).
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) (required).
  • At least 1 year of experience on Siemens Scanners (required).
  • Willingness to cover multiple departments as needed.

Skills

  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs, position, push, or transfer patients.
  • Manual dexterity and mobility.
  • Able to see clearly at 20 feet or more and at 20 inches or less.
  • Able to judge distance and space relationships, see peripherally, and distinguish/identify different colors.
  • Able to sit for long periods (at least 50%).
  • Able to type and do computer work for extended periods.

Pay

Up to $45 - $50 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

PRN, as needed (primarily Monday - Friday in a clinic setting).

Travel Requirements

Some interoffice travel may be required, with use of a company vehicle or mileage reimbursement.
