MRI Technologist (part-time)

About the role

The MRI Technologist will join our team at Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, Delaware. The position operates on a flexible schedule, including alternating Saturdays from 7:30 AM - 4 PM, and on-call availability.

Responsibilities

• Perform Magnetic Resonance studies while providing quality health care services in a comfortable, friendly environment.
• Communicate effectively with the public and professional/medical personnel.
• Participate in Quality Assessment and Improvement programs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes.
• Operate and maintain MRI equipment on Siemens and GE scanners, as well as Advantage windows workstation.
• Administer and document contrast media as per departmental protocols under the supervision of a radiologist.
• Screen patients for contraindications and prepare them for imaging procedures.
• Document patient information accurately and ensure safe work habits.
• Enter and retrieve patient data using hospital computer systems.
• Provide care that respects the chronological, developmental, and social maturity of patients.
• Aid in the training of new personnel, students, and physicians.

Requirements

• Trade school or college-based training required (hospital-based program, Associate or Bachelor Degree program, graduate of an accredited MRI program, or completion of MRI training program).
• Registered as an MR Technologist with ARRT, ARMIT, or CAMRT, or must obtain MRI board certification within 18 months of hire.
• Hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in an allied health field and be certified through ARDMS or NMTCB, with MRI board certification required within 18 months of hire.
• Graduate of an accredited MRI program with at least 6 months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience, and must obtain MRI board certification within 90 days of hire.
• American Heart Association BLS Certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• State of Delaware Radiation License required within 90 days of hire for those holding NMTCB licensure only.
• Pediatric MRI experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of six (6) months experience required.
