MRI Technologist (part-time)
About the role
The MRI Technologist will join our team at Nemours Children's Health in Wilmington, Delaware. The position operates on a flexible schedule, including alternating Saturdays from 7:30 AM - 4 PM, and on-call availability.
Responsibilities
- Perform Magnetic Resonance studies while providing quality health care services in a comfortable, friendly environment.
- Communicate effectively with the public and professional/medical personnel.
- Participate in Quality Assessment and Improvement programs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes.
- Operate and maintain MRI equipment on Siemens and GE scanners, as well as Advantage windows workstation.
- Administer and document contrast media as per departmental protocols under the supervision of a radiologist.
- Screen patients for contraindications and prepare them for imaging procedures.
- Document patient information accurately and ensure safe work habits.
- Enter and retrieve patient data using hospital computer systems.
- Provide care that respects the chronological, developmental, and social maturity of patients.
- Aid in the training of new personnel, students, and physicians.
Requirements
- Trade school or college-based training required (hospital-based program, Associate or Bachelor Degree program, graduate of an accredited MRI program, or completion of MRI training program).
- Registered as an MR Technologist with ARRT, ARMIT, or CAMRT, or must obtain MRI board certification within 18 months of hire.
- Hold an associate or bachelor’s degree in an allied health field and be certified through ARDMS or NMTCB, with MRI board certification required within 18 months of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited MRI program with at least 6 months of supervised clinical MRI scanning experience, and must obtain MRI board certification within 90 days of hire.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- State of Delaware Radiation License required within 90 days of hire for those holding NMTCB licensure only.
- Pediatric MRI experience preferred.
