Position Summary

The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the Radiologist at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The MRI Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet patient care standards. The MRI Technologist maintains a safe environment for themselves and patients. The MRI Technologist applies knowledge of MRI safety practices to maintain a safe environment for all. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member. This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable. This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist or Magnetic Resonance Imaging program
  • American Heart Association BLS required upon hire or transfer
  • One year of diagnostic testing experience preferred
  • Must meet one of the following qualification pathways upon hire or transfer:
    • Active MRI Certification by American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
    • Active MRI-Only Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(MR)
    • Active Dual Radiography and MRI certification with State Licensure

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited radiologic technologist or MRI program required
  • Experience: One year of diagnostic testing experience preferred
  • Certification: American Heart Association BLS required upon hire or transfer
