Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment and supplies; selects appropriate imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment; troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions.
• Performs independently core MR Protocols, complex Neuro cases, and anesthesia cases.
• Provides feedback as a Peer for Performance Evaluations.
• Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s); analyzes results and identifies issues with image quality; takes appropriate action to resolve, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders; educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exam to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Serves as a Resource for staff members in partnership with the clinical educator.
• Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedures.
• When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice; monitors patient condition continually and responds to changes in status.
• Performs Quality Assurance Testing on Imaging and related equipment.
• Precepts students or new hires.
• Competent in: Contrast Enhanced MRA Neuro & CSF Flow, Contrast Enhanced body MRA, WARP and Metal Reduction Protocols, MRI Perfusion, MR Conditional Device Screening, and MRI Reconstruction (MIPS, MPRS).
• Specific to sites with breast MRI services: MRI Guided Biopsies.

Requirements

• Accredited Program: Imaging (Required).
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license from the State of Florida.
• Two (2) years of MRI Technologist experience.
• Registered as a Technologist (RT), (RTT), or (NMTCB) and registered in magnetic resonance imaging (MR) by ARRT, or registered as a Technologist (ARMRIT) - Advanced Registry MRI Technologist.
