Operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients for diagnostic purposes. Performs related technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
Responsibilities
- Performs patient studies according to set protocol, including placing specified coil close to area of interest.
- Operates imaging and other equipment devices to provide quality diagnostic services, including keying commands to specify scan sequences, adjusting transmitters and receivers, and photographing images.
- Interviews patient to explain MRI procedures, addressing patient concerns with tact, courtesy, and poise.
- Ensures patient and staff safety by explaining safety protocols, requesting removal of hazardous metal objects, and monitoring patients via closed-circuit TV.
- Orients new hires and trains MRI Technologists, students, and trainees.
- May direct, check, and train other MRI employees in the absence of the MRI Supervising Technologist.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.
Requirements
- Two (2) years of continuous recent experience as an MRI Technologist, fully proficient in all duties required of an MRI Technologist II.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California).
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) within 6 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Demonstrated proficiency in teaching other Technologists.
- Fully proficient in MRI to the satisfaction of the department manager, with knowledge of required protocols for complex MRI procedures.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT certification preferred.
Pay
$78.08 - $82.87 per hour.

- Working Hours: 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM
- Job Schedule: Call-in/On-Call
