About the Role
Performs MRI procedures. Adheres to MRI safety for patients and staff within MRI zones 1 through 4. Provides patient services using Magnetic Resonance diagnostic imaging.
Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures in compliance with safety standards
- Adhere to MRI safety protocols for patients and staff in zones 1–4
- Provide patient services using Magnetic Resonance diagnostic imaging
- Assist patients on and off exam tables and position patients for imaging
- Use universal precautions and adhere to MR safety standards established by regulatory bodies
Requirements
- License to practice Radiologic Technology from NYS Department of Health
- Current registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- MR registry required within two years of employment
- Injection license
- Experience preferable, but new graduates of an approved Radiologic Technologist Program will be considered
- GE experience highly recommended
Physical Requirements
- Standing for 1–4 hours or sitting for 1–7.5 hours at a time
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Heavy carrying (up to 50 pounds), pulling, pushing, repeated bending
- Manual dexterity and reaching above shoulder level

- Ability to work with minimal supervision and set priorities
- Able to work effectively with patients of all ages and in various medical situations
Occupational Hazards
- Potential exposure to hazardous and toxic substances
- Exposure to infectious patients
Patient Age and Type Served
Male and female patients of all ages: infant, child, adult, geriatric; acute care, outpatients, and emergency.

- MR equipment and systems specific to location
- Office equipment: computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines
Pay
$37.60–$56.40 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary by location.
