The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview The MRI Technician performs diagnostic magnetic resonance imaging procedures within the scope defined by Regulatory and Departmental QC standards. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc. Qualifications Required: Trade/Vocational training in Radiologic Technology1-3 years general radiology experienceNJ licenseAART certificationBLS through American Heart Association Preferred ARMRIT certification Scheduling Requirements Day ShiftPer DiemThe schedule varies based on the needs of the department Essential Functions Adapts to varying work requirements dependent upon departmental needAddresses patient and medical staff concernsAssists in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers and M.R.I. tablesAssists in the orientation of department and hospital personnel, as appropriateAssists the physician in the administration of contrast media required for proceduresChecks equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basisChecks requisition for physician notations and/or special instructionsDemonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skillsDescribes nature and time requirements of requested examination to patient, at an age-appropriate levelIdentifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor/charge staff; offers solutions as appropriatePerforms Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures working with patients ranging in age from neo-natal to geriatricPositions patient to obtain desired views; applies immobilization devices as requiredRecognizes emergency situation, initiates code procedures RWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer
