About the role
The MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician to assist in diagnosing medical conditions across all ages.
Responsibilities
- Perform various MRI, MRV, and MRA procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
- Properly position patients and select technical settings to optimize imaging.
- Handle venipuncture, administer drugs and biologics as needed, and maintain sterile techniques.
- Operate MRI equipment and support systems such as HIS, RIS, and PACS, and coordinate with radiologists.
- Document patient history, maintain confidentiality, and coordinate exams within the department.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families, and manage scheduling and inquiries with courtesy.
- Care for and disinfect equipment, maintain supplies, and report equipment issues.
Requirements
- Graduate of a radiologic technology program.
- Current certification or eligibility by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Valid Nebraska Medical Radiographer license.
- MRI certification within 36 months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
