MRI Technologist

About the role

The MRI Technologist performs MRI procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician to assist in diagnosing medical conditions across all ages.

Responsibilities

• Perform various MRI, MRV, and MRA procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
• Properly position patients and select technical settings to optimize imaging.
• Handle venipuncture, administer drugs and biologics as needed, and maintain sterile techniques.
• Operate MRI equipment and support systems such as HIS, RIS, and PACS, and coordinate with radiologists.
• Document patient history, maintain confidentiality, and coordinate exams within the department.
• Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and families, and manage scheduling and inquiries with courtesy.
• Care for and disinfect equipment, maintain supplies, and report equipment issues.

Requirements

• Graduate of a radiologic technology program.
• Current certification or eligibility by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Valid Nebraska Medical Radiographer license.
• MRI certification within 36 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
