MRI Technologist
About the Role
As an MRI Technologist, you will perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions. You will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images. Success in this role requires expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate MRI equipment and perform procedures with technical competency.
- Determine appropriate test procedures based on the purpose of the examination.
- Update patient examination history files, record unusual conditions or limitations, and document examination time, room number, and technique factors.
- Complete examination and billing procedures as required.
- Utilize magnetic field safety practices for patients, self, and others, including radiation protection devices.
- Ensure badges are worn appropriately and readings are available.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of anatomy, positioning, and various drugs and contrast media utilized; competently inject contrast media.
- Apply cross-sectional anatomy knowledge specific to MRI.
- Accurately mark all images and ensure patient information is clearly visible.
- Perform visual preventive safety inspections of patients and equipment prior to entering the MRI.
- Provide MRI history worksheet on PACS and confirm appropriate screening is completed prior to scan.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiological technology.
- Minimum three (3) years of MRI technologist experience upon hire.
- Five (5) years of overall imaging experience.
- Registered Technologist in Radiography (ARRT).
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPR/BLS) certification.
Previous MRI experience is preferred.

Pay
$49.13 - $49.13 per hour.
